Eating Out Healthy in the New Year

It’s a new year! That means a new start, new goals, and likely new year’s resolutions. Although a new year is not necessary for making resolutions and goals, it’s still a well-liked tradition. According to research from a Statista survey of Americans on their goals for the year, 23% said they wanted to live healthier, and 21% said their goal was personal improvement and happiness. For many, a new year’s resolution is a catalyst for change. If you’re like many Americans who resolve to live – and eat – healthier, then we’re here to support you in that goal!

Oftentimes it’s hard to strike a balance between eating out and healthy dining. We’re here to offer a healthy restaurant option with delicious, homemade meals your whole family will enjoy. Here are some of our favorite options to help you achieve your goal of eating healthy in 2023!

Healthy Breakfasts

Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day because it kick-starts your metabolism, helping you burn calories throughout the day. Breakfast also gives you the energy you need to get things done and helps you focus at work or at school. Here are a few of our favorite options for healthy eating at breakfast

Acai Bowl

White bowl filled with Acai sorbet and covered with granola, coconut, strawberries, bananas, blueberries and drizzled with honey.

Our Acai Bowl is a great way to start your day with fresh fruit, granola, toasted coconut, and honey atop a frozen acai sorbet. This meal is packed with antioxidants, omegas, iron, protein, vitamins A & C, and fiber, and is only 369 calories!

Oatmeal Bowl

White bowl filled with oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar on top, with a small bowl of brown sugar topping in the background.

One of the best ways to start your day is with a bowl of oatmeal. Oats contain a type of soluble fiber (beta-glucan) that helps reduce the risk of heart disease and diabetes. We serve our Bowl of Oatmeal with milk and your choice of toppings, bringing this nutritious breakfast to you at only 210 calories!

Healthy LuncheS

If you’re counting your calories at mealtime, we make it easy for you to factor Brookfields into your healthy eating habits. Each of our meals features a calorie count, and these are a few of our favorite options for healthy eating at lunch

Mediterranean SalatA

White bowl filled with chopped lettuce, cucumbers, red onions, tomatoes, olives, and feta cheese.

Salads are an excellent choice for healthy eating, and one of our healthiest salads on the menu is our Mediterranean Salata. Packed with diced tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet red onions, Kalamata olives, and feta cheese, served over a bed of crisp romaine lettuce with our balsamic vinaigrette served on the side. This super-fresh lunch is only 300 calories!

California BLT

Bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado sandwich made with sourdough bread and cut in half, with french fries in the background.

Our California BLT is simply delicious! Made with all the traditional fixings – bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes – plus avocado and served on grilled sourdough bread, this healthy lunch option is only 370 calories!

Healthy Dinners

One of the best ways to eat healthy at dinner is to choose fish and poultry and eat a variety of whole grains and fresh veggies. Of course, that doesn’t mean you have to completely avoid red meat – just limit your intake. Here are a few of our favorite options for healthy eating at dinner

Carved Roast Beef

White plate with sliced roast beef with cooked veggies - carrots, zucchini, broccoli, squash - and mashed potatoes with gravy.

Our Carved Roast Beef is one of our most popular meals and one of our healthier dinner options at only 300 calories! We use only premium choice certified Angus beef, slow roast it, then serve it au jus with creamy horseradish and mashed potatoes and veggies.

Coconut & Panko-Crusted Haddock

Our Coconut & Panko-Crusted Haddock is so flavorful! We serve this mild white fish filet over seasoned wild brown rice with our homemade citrus aioli and avocado. Only 416 calories!

Of course, these healthy meals are just a few of our favorites – we have a much bigger menu with many more healthy options for you to explore and eat! We look forward to helping you keep your new year’s resolutions for healthy eating and living. Which meal will you try first?
